Free Coaching Exercise: “10 Things to Do Before I Die”

April 3, 2012 by Sandra Mashihi

This free exercise, and dozens of others, were created for our book, Clueless: Coaching People Who Just Don’t Get It. You can learn more about Clueless by visiting our site or you can buy it from amazon.com today.

Purpose of Exercise:  Asks clients to list 10 things they would find stimulating, exciting, challenging, and fulfilling.

How to Administer and Use this Exercise to Facilitate Behavior Change: As coaches, we often see our clients get so caught up in their perceptions of work and life challenges, that they regret all the things they would have like to have done in their lives. This exercise can help you facilitate a conversation with your clients to help them reflect on the primary things they are passionate and motivated to fulfill in their lives. This can help them redirect their energy and create goals in order to balance their work lives and personal fulfillments.
