“If you only do what you know you can do- you never do very much.â€
Tom Krause
Executive coaching has continued to evolve and grow and I have written quite a number of blogs about the field, evidence based results, use of assessments and some of the pitfalls. In some ways, it is still the “wild west” as described in an earlier HBR article and has become less of a “fad” then when I first reviewed the field in 2003 for the California Psychological Association.
The coaching field is quite diverse with a variety of approaches, training programs and orientations. I’ve also written about some of the similarities and differences between executive coaching and other types (e.g., lifestyle modification or wellness coaching).
Some Important Coaching Questions
- Is there evidence that coaching really works?
- What assessments are commonly used by coaches?
- Does the coaching field need to be regulated?
- Does it really matter what credentials a coach has to be effective?
- What type of coaching is used in business and industry today?
I’ve compiled a list of “coaching” oriented Blogs in one place to save you time to search for all of them that I have written during the last few years.
I welcome your feedback, questions and perspective on this still evolving and exciting field….Be well….
