What’s it about? This is one of my shortest posts ever. Don’t want to waste your time. Do want to spur you to action.
Do you know of Robert Sutton, Professor of Management Science and Engineering at the Stanford Engineering School? Perhaps you are more familiar with the catchy title of his book The No-Asshole Rule. The book was a best seller on the New York Times bestseller list and won the Quill Award as the best business book of 2007.
The book is about how to create a jerk-free work environment.
But being jerk-free isn’t the same as having a Boss who inspires you to your max. Thus his latest book, hot off the press, is Good Boss, Bad Boss: How to Be the Best… and Learn from the Worst.
I have had the good fortune of an advance preview of this book and I am jazzed. Much of the book is told through stories. The stories of the good bosses made me want to go find them and hug them. If these stories are accurate (and I have no reason not to believe they are accurate), then these are the stories that all bosses should aspire to emulate.Â
If you are a leader of any kind, or a wannabe leader, run – do not walk – to get this book.
