What’s it about? If you have looked at a calendar today you are probably aware that this is the anniversary of a very sad day in American history. It is the kind of day that can easily drag you down. In addition it is “hump day”, the middle of the week when things can be a grind. So I thought that today I would offer you a “Pick-Me-Up”, something to make you smile or inject a tad of optimism or motivation.

I spend a lot of time researching motivational or humorous quotes. I don’t always know what to do with them all. So here for your enjoyment and possible inspiration are some quotes that are eager to bust out of my files on to this page:

    The Real Manager
An administrative clerk, a supervisor and their manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, ‘I’ll give each of you just one wish.’

‘Me first! Me first!’ says the admin clerk.. ‘I want to be in the Bahamas driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.’ Poof! She’s gone. ‘Me next! Me next!’ says the supervisor. ‘I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas, and the love of my life.’ Poof! He’s gone.

‘OK, you’re next,’ the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, ‘I want those two back in the office after lunch.’
