As the week winds down, we wind down with some tidbits for your information, education, health, and enjoyment.
Quote of the Week: “By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve hours a day.” Robert Frost
Humor Break: “If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be ‘meetings’.â€Â Dave Barry
Stat of the Week: Executives Say They’re Pulled in Too Many Directions and That Their Company’s Capabilities Don’t Support Their Strategy. Executives who told a Booz & Company survey that their companies have very few (1 to 3) firmwide strategic priorities were the most likely to say their companies have above-average profitability and revenue growth.
Action Tip: How about your priorities? Do you have personal and professional goals? Lot’s of folks have “To Do†lists to help get them through the day. But very few ever match up their “To Do’s†with their goals … and that is how time slips away. Feel like you are on a treadmill? Then start spending time each day on those really important goals.Â
Volunteering: Make volunteering a priority in your life. It is a good thing to do and it makes you feel good.
