TGIF – Any Regrets?

August 26, 2011 by Bill Bradley

As the week winds down, we wind down with some tidbits for your information, education, health, and enjoyment.

Quotes of the Week: “Regrets, I’ve had a few ….”  Frank Sinatra

“You don’t get to choose how you’re going to die. Or when. You can decide how you’re going to live now.”  Joan Baez

Humor Break: Soon to have a regret: Bev is standing looking in the bedroom mirror… She is not happy with what she sees and says to Al, her husband, “I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly… I really need you to pay me a compliment.”

Al replies, “Your eyesight’s damn near perfect.”

Stat of the Week: Asked to report one salient regret in life, men were more likely to mention a work regret, whereas women were more likely to mention a regret related to love, according to a survey of 370 adult Americans by university researchers. When all respondents were combined, regrets involving romance were the most common (18.1%), followed by family (15.9%), education (13.1%), career (12.2%), finance (9.9%), and parenting (9.0%).

Action Tip: Make a list of 100 things you want to do before you die.

Volunteering: Do you know a couple (good friends) who need a break.  Volunteer to watch their kids, house, dog, cat, plants for a weekend and let them have some time together that they won’t regret.
