TGIF – Caring, Committed and Conflicted

July 29, 2011 by Bill Bradley

As the week winds down, we wind down with some tidbits for your information, education, health, and enjoyment.

Quote of the Week: “It is a wise father that knows his own child.”  William Shakespeare

Humor Break: Today we present some wise advice from Stay-at-Home Dads:

“Just you wait until your mother gets home.”

“Never raise your hand to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected.”

And finally, talk about your stay-at-home dad: “I have never been jealous. Not even when my dad finished fifth grade a year before I did.”  Jeff Foxworthy

Stat of the Week: Although only 1 in 20 American fathers took more than two weeks off from work after their most recent children were born, men seem increasingly comfortable with the role of stay-at-home dad.

Action Tip: Surprise your boss, spouse, and child, take a day off for you and an off-spring.  A little one-on-one action.  Do something educational before doing something you like to do (i.e. the old ball game).  And don’t forget to build in some time to just talk.

Volunteering: Big Brothers and Big Sisters always need volunteers.  Be someone’s Hero.
