As the week winds down, we wind down with some tidbits for your information, education, health, and enjoyment.
Quote of the Week: “There are two types of people — those who come into a room and say ‘Well, here I am!’ and those who come in and say ‘Ah, there you are’.”  Frederick Collins
Humor Break: I didn’t say it was your fault. I said I was going to blame it on you.
Stat of the Week: A startling 37% of American workers — roughly 54 million people — have been bullied at work according to a 2007 survey by the Workplace Bullying Institute. The consequences of such bullying spreading to the targets’ families, coworkers, and organizations. Costs include reduced creativity, low morale, and increased turnover — all factors that weigh heavily on the bottom line.
Action Tip: Do your part to create the kind of atmosphere you want to work in. Go out of your way to greet co-workers each day. Add some social conversation to your day – and mean it. Check your wardrobe to make sure you are wearing a smile.
Volunteering: As Rodney King said, “Can’t we all get along.â€Â How about volunteering to help eliminate domestic violence. Check out opportunities nationwide from the YWCA Support Network. The mission of the YWCA Support Network is to empower our diverse community to live free from domestic violence.
