As the week winds down, we wind down with some tidbits for your information, education, health, and enjoyment.
Quote of the Week: “With my sunglasses on I’m Jack Nicholson; without them, I’m fat and 60!â€Â  Jack Nicholson
Humor Break:
Bev: Al, did you did you go to that new exercise class today?
Al: No.
Bev: Why not?
Al: They told me I had to wear loose-fitting clothes.
Bev: So?
Al: If I had any loose-fitting clothes I wouldn’t have signed up in the first place.
Stat of the Week: I started my weight loss program on Wednesday. I weighted “Xâ€. (You didn’t think I would confess my real weight did you?) Too early to report anything significant except that I have stuck to the plan for 2 whole, long, days. But I am helped along with 7 healthy dieting and weight loss tips from an excellent article on healthy living.
Action Tip: From the same article consider this quote: “The key is to create a (weight loss) plan that provides plenty of enjoyable choices, avoid common dieting pitfalls, and learn how to develop a healthier, more satisfying relationship with food.”
Weight Watch – Week 1: No more sweets, butter, very limited bread and much more water and raw carrots. Two days into the wellness program (Not DIET OR EXERCISE program – important difference I think) and that is what I notice the most. One reader has agreed to join me for the 16 week journey. I appreciate that support. I need some coaching. What should I do in the evenings when hit with “snack/sweet†desires?
Hi Ken. I’ll try to follow too, I need to lay off the pastry products… Good luck!
Mike, good luck with the wellness program. Secret for those evening snack/sweet desires: some good cheese. Seriously, it works. Secret to weight loss is to reduce carbs. Eliminate sugar and processed foods, especially breads. Read http://www.nytimes.com/2002/07/07/magazine/what-if-it-s-all-been-a-big-fat-lie.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm
