TGIF – If This Ain’t Depressing, I Don’t Know What Is

June 17, 2011 by Bill Bradley

As the week winds down, we wind down with some tidbits for your information, education, health, and enjoyment.

Quote of the Week:
“listen to what i say
in your life expect some trouble
when you worry you make it double
don’t worry be happy” Bobby McFerrin – Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Humor Break: Call the Psychiatric Hotline and you can expect to hear the following recording:
If you are obsessive-compulsive, please press 1 repeatedly.
If you are co-dependent, please ask someone to press 2.
If you have multiple personalities, please press 3, 4, 5, and 6.
If you are paranoid-delusional, we know who you are and what you want. Just stay on the line so we can trace the call.
If you are schizophrenic, listen carefully and a little voice will tell you which number to press.
If you are depressed, it doesn’t matter which number you press. No one will answer.
If you are delusional and occasionally hallucinate, please be aware that the thing you are holding on the side of your head is alive and about to bite off your ear.

Stat of the Week: According to Health.com here are 10 Careers With High Rates of Depression.  At least the pictures are nice.

Action Tip: Feeling a little down … laughter is the best medicine.  For a quickie (joke) I like to go to Funny Quote of the Day at BrainQuote.

Volunteering: How about letting out your inner clown to help sick children.  Google “volunteer as a clown” followed by your home town and see what you get.  If you live near Needham, Ma, you would get “Hearts and Noses”.  Check it out and smile.
