So, Just How Crazy Are You?

January 13, 2014 by Ken Nowack

“My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I want a second opinion. He said okay, you’re ugly too.”

Rodney Dangerfield

Mental disorders are common in the United States and internationally. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year ((Kessler RC, Chiu WT, Demler O, Walters EE. Prevalence, severity, and comorbidity of twelve-month DSM-IV disorders in the National Comorbidity Survey Replication (NCS-R). Archives of General Psychiatry, 2005 Jun;62(6):617-27)).

Many people suffer from more than one mental disorder at a given time.  In the last release of the American Psychiatric Association’s “bible” of mental disorders called the DSM5, at least six distinct personality disorders alone are described.

How Crazy Are You?

The Bradley Neuropsychiatric Inventory is a fun way to assess your psychopathology (and based on a famous retired OD consultant and current Humanitarian, Blogger, and writer).
